Pay Rate: $21.00 per hour

This position is responsible for maintaining clean and attractive guest rooms while providing attentive, courteous and efficient service to all guests. Thes Self-Inspector is also responsible for ensuring the room is 100% Guest Ready. Duties may include making beds, replensihing linens, cleaning rooms, halls, common areas and vacuuming. Ensuring compliance with all enterprise policies and procedures, as well as demonstrating the GILA WAY.  

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Promotes and provides excellent guest service experiences to both internal and external guests.
  • Responsible for inspecting their daily assigned rooms and provides training to new and existing Housekeeping staff.
  • Communicates with executive housekeeper to ensure that resort issues are addressed on a daily basis.
  • Examines carpets, drapes, beds, linen, terry, room amenities and furniture for stains, damage or wear and takes appropriate action to correct. 
  • Report all missing items from room (i.e., irons/boards. hair dryers, etc)to Housekeeping Supervisor/Manager and replenish all missing items before punching the room as guest ready.
  • Carries linen, towel, toilet items and cleaning supplies, using wheeled carts.
  • Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, ballrooms, meeting rooms and other assigned areas so that health standards are met.
  • Empties wastebaskets, empties and cleans ashtrays, and transports other trash and waste to disposal areas.
  • Replenishes supplies such as drinking glasses, linens, writing supplies and bathroom items.
  • Keeps storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean and tidy.
  • Dusts and polishes furniture and equipment.
  • Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, and/or polishes floors, using brooms, mops, and/or shampooers.
  • Washes windows, walls, ceilings and woodwork, waxing and polishing as necessary.
  • Hangs draperies and dusts window blinds.
  • Maintains a dependable work attendance record with extremely infrequent absences and/or lateness. 
  • Performs other special projects and duties as assigned. 

 

Skills/ Requirements

  • Experience in housekeeping or cleaning rooms in a hotel/resort typesetting preferred.
  • Must be able to lift, push, and move furniture, mattresses, and linen carts.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period of time.
  • Ability to follow directions and work independently.
  • Ability to work quickly and thoroughly. 
  • Ability to learn to operate machine used for cleaning.  
  • Ability to perform the GILA WAY which is as follows: Greet our guest, Interact positively with our guest, Listen actively to our guest, Appreciate our guest. 
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug/alcohol test and agree to maintain a Drug-Free Workplace as a condition of employment.
  • Must pass a full background check to be certified/licensed prior to employment.
  • Must be able to work in a smoking environment. 

Important Notes 

As a condition of employment, all new hires must pass the following:  

Pre-employment Alcohol/Drug Test. This drug test includes the normal seven-panel test, but excludes marijuana for non-safety sensitive positions.  

Background check. Applicants who have felonies, warrants, outstanding tickets, shoplifting or theft convictions will be ineligible for employment.
