ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- The General Manager may require overseeing operations at any one of our four locations based on business needs.
- Promotes and provides excellent guest service experiences to both internal and external guests.
- Provides direct oversight for all revenue generating departments and non-revenue generating operational support departments within the assigned casino location.
- Maintains constant awareness of all significant casino operational issues and responds quickly and productively when needs arise.
- Reviews and responds properly to financial statements, by taking necessary corrective and improvement actions, in order to continually improve the financial performance of the assigned casino location.
- Manages all responsibilities in a manner that effectively balances the varying interests and requirements of all gaming, lodging, dining and entertainment operations.
- Ensure the creation and implementation of a strategy designed to grow the business.
- Ensure the development of tactical programs are aligned to pursue targeted goals and objectives.
- Engage with corporate officers in a broader sense regarding organizational strategic planning.
- Report key results to corporate officers.
- Effectively balances the sometimes competing interests of revenue growth and guest satisfaction.
- Ensures that a program of high quality guest service is maintained and monitored while being actively carried out by all departments and employees.
- Maintains operational responsibility for all Department Managers in the performance of their job duties, and ensures that Department Managers adhere to and comply with enterprise policies, procedures, standards and applicable government regulations.
- Maintains awareness of and takes remedial steps when necessary in response to coin-in and win-per-unit degradation when such events occur.
- Establishes effective communications to maintain a constant flow of information downward, upward and laterally, and establishes an atmosphere that ensures a favorable gaming, dining, lodging and/or entertainment experience for all guests.
- Oversees and assists in the budget preparation process, while being responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual reviews including budget variances and statistical fluctuations.
- Recognizes and reports to proper internal authorities any policy aberrations or variances.
- Positively influences and improves upon organizational inefficiencies to that operating and financial performance may be continuously improved upon.
- Models ethical, pleasant, informed, decisive and responsive behavior for all employees of the enterprise while taking all steps necessary to motivate high job performance levels by all employees.
- Responsible for mentoring and developing Pathways Mentorship Program participants to successfully transition to management level positions.
- Maintains a dependable work attendance record with extremely infrequent absences and/or lateness.
- Performs other special projects and duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises multiple Directors with varying job duties. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma required. Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field preferred.
- Seven (7) years of increasingly responsible executive or senior level management experience within a gaming environment required.
- Must possess excellent guest service skills, strong telephone etiquette, a self-starter with the ability to follow-p and complete tasks in a timely manner with minimum supervision.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as well as to gain the cooperation of guest and fellow team members.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
- This position must have, or an ability to acquire within one year, and in-depth knowledge and thorough understanding of Enterprise Policies and Procedures, governmental regulations, and technical rules relevant to their responsibilities.
