This position performs administrative, evaluative, or technical work concerned with establishing and maintaining employer-employee relationships that create satisfactory productivity, motivation, morale, discipline and customer service amongst employees while ensuring consistency in all terms and conditions of employment with the enterprise. This position performs analyses and formulates solutions in most areas of human resources management, and develops/facilitates training in order to enhance skills of managers and supervisors, as well as demonstrating the GILA WAY.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Promotes and provides excellent guest service experiences to both internal and external guests.
  • Investigates allegations related to harassment, discrimination, policy violations, and/or workplace violence.
  • Processes and investigates employee grievances, assembles all related information, presents such information to grievance committees and facilitates grievance resolution while communicating outcomes to the involved employee.
  • Provides review of and recommendation related to disciplinary actions according to enterprise policies and procedures while ensuring policy interpretation and usage consistency.
  • Interprets and communicates existing human resources and department policies to employees and managers. 
  • Maintains a dependable work attendance record with extremely infrequent absences and/or lateness. 
  • Performs other special projects and duties as assigned.

Skills/ Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two (2) years of experience in employee relations or related human resources work required.
  • Knowledge of and experience with applying employee performance management concepts, theories, federal and state laws, rules, regulations, and procedures sufficient to process possible grievance/appeal, actions and/or deal successfully with issue related to interpersonal conflict.
  • Experience in applying fact finding, analytical and problem solving methods and techniques. 
  • Experience with written and oral communication sufficient to prepare and present oral and written findings.  
  • Must have dependable transportation, a valid AZ Driver License and current vehicle insurance to travel between enterprise locations.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as well as to gain the cooperation of guests and fellow team members.
  • Must possess excellent guest service skills, strong telephone etiquette, be a self-starter with the ability to follow-up and complete tasks in a timely manner with minimum supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral. 
  • This position must have, or an ability to acquire within one year, an in-depth knowledge and thorough understanding of all applicable regulatory controls, Enterprise Policies and Procedures, governmental regulations, and technical rules relevant to their responsibilities.
