Corporate Vice President of Gaming Operations

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Promotes and provides excellent guest service experiences to both internal and external guests.
- Ensures gaming compliance with corporate policies and procedures, the State of Arizona Gaming Compact, and the Gila River Gaming Ordinance.
- Partners with general managers in the evaluation of gaming capital expenditure alternatives in pursuit of enterprise growth objectives while guiding implementation activities that ensure the success of all new gaming equipment.
- Prepares department revenue/expense reports and departmental operation/capital budgets while consistently monitoring financial performance and responding accordingly so that objectives are met or exceeded.
- Analyzes and responds to all gaming data system reports.
- Ensures compliance by all employees within the entire Gaming Department.
- Monitors and responds to current gaming trends to ensure competitive positioning by the Enterprise.
- Analyzes gaming device types, placement, performance, denominations, and profitability in order to stay competitive within local markets, while providing improvement recommendations to casino operations and Senior Leadership.
- Interfaces with vendors on a frequent basis in order to stay abreast of new gaming technologies and equipment options.
- Selects games to be used, including percentage establishment, and reviews/negotiates purchase and lease contracts.
- Analyzes, evaluates, and recommends changes and improvements to procedures and systems resulting in positive effects upon employee performance and financial results.
- Researches new gaming products and technology and makes appropriate recommendations.
- Collaborates with general managers regarding vendor contracts for operating supplies and equipment for the Gaming Department.
- Acts as pre-approval point for all gaming requests prior to Tribal Gaming Office submission.
- Maintains working knowledge of the Gila River Indian Community Tribal Gaming Ordinance and ensures GRGE compliance with the requirements of the ordinances that relate to Gaming operations.
- Provides administrative technical support related to gaming equipment/operations such as notifications, revocations, upgrades, and other support to ensure compliance with existing technical directives and regulations.
- Develops new and reviews current gaming policies and procedures.
- Provides support to gaming operations in related skills training initiatives.
- Monitors and evaluates budgetary performance within the department while implementing necessary remedial steps in response to unexpected events and ensuring budgetary compliance.
- Provides ongoing assessment and evaluation of gaming operations while making recommendations for improvements that serve enterprise objectives.
- To the highest degree possible, positively influences and improves upon organizational inefficiencies so that operating and financial performance may be continuously improved upon.
- Models ethical, pleasant, informed, decisive and responsive behavior for all employees of the enterprise while taking all steps necessary to motivate positively high job performance levels by all employees.
- Responsible for mentoring and developing Pathways Mentorship Program participants to successfully transition to management level positions.
- Maintains a dependable work attendance record with extremely infrequent absences and/or lateness, and is available on a “on call” status.
- Performs other special projects and duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises multiple management level employees and influences many others at multiple levels of the enterprise. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding 1 disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Finance or Business Administration required.
- Five (5) years of senior management experience required.
- Five (5) years casino gaming experience required.
- Experience with Slots, Sports Book Operations and Table Games, to include Blackjack, Carnival Games, Baccarat, Roulette, Craps, Live Poker and Bingo operations with knowledge of gaming statistical reporting and database management required.
- Ability to perform the GILA WAY which is as follows; Greet our Guest, Interact positively witht our guest, Listen actively to our guest, Appreciate our guest
- Must possess strong attention to detail, excellent guest service skills, strong organizational skills, strong professional etiquette, and be a self-starter with the ability to multitask, follow-up and complete tasks in a timely manner with minimum supervision.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as well as to gain the cooperation of guest and fellow team members.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
- This position must have, or an ability to acquire within one year, an in-depth knowledge and thorough understanding of Enterprise Policies and Procedures, governmental regulations, and technical rules relevant to their responsibilities.
As a condition of employment, all new hires must pass the following:
