POSITION SUMMARY

This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of slot machine operations across multiple casino properties, including performance monitoring, installations, product mix, optimization, and vendor relations. The position may perform these duties directly or delegate them to subordinate staff as appropriate.

A thorough understanding of regulatory standards established by the Tribal Gaming Office, State Gaming Authority, and internal controls is essential to ensure enterprise-wide compliance. The successful candidate will lead and complete all related projects in a timely and efficient manner, consistently exemplifying The GILA WAY.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Promotes and provides excellent guest service experiences to both internal and external guests.
  • Develop and execute strategic slot operations plans across all four casino properties to maximize revenue and guest satisfaction.
  • Prepares department revenue/expense reports and departmental operation/capital budgets while consistently monitoring financial performance and responding accordingly so that objectives are met or exceeded.
  • Analyzes and responds to slot data system reports.
  • Ensures compliance of corporate policies and procedures, the State of Arizona Gaming Compact and the Tribal Gaming Ordinance by all employees within the Slot operation.
  • Monitors industry trends, new technologies, and competitor performance to identify opportunities for innovation and growth
  • Analyzes gaming device types, placement, performance, denominations, and profitability in order to stay competitive within local markets, while providing improvement recommendations to casino operations and executive management. 
  • Establish and maintain vendor relationships in order to stay abreast of new gaming technologies, negotiate contracts and coordinate the acquisition and installation of new gaming products
  • Ensures thorough, constant and complete communication to and from all other senior management team members so that knowledge may be shared fully.
  • Selects games to be used, including percentage establishment, and reviews/negotiates purchase and lease contracts.
  • Analyzes, evaluates, and recommends changes and improvements to procedures and systems resulting in positive effects upon financial results.
  • Assists executive management in formulating corporate gaming objectives, policies and plans.
  • Provides timely leadership, motivation and guidance to direct reports in pursuit of enterprise objectives while ensuring highly effective performance by those direct reports.
  • Models ethical, pleasant, informed, decisive and responsive behavior for all employees of the enterprise while taking all steps necessary to motivate positively high job performance levels by all employees.
  • Acts as pre-approval point for all gaming requests prior to Tribal Gaming Office submission.
  • To the highest degree possible, positively influences and improves upon organizational inefficiencies so that organizational operating and financial performance may be continuously improved upon.
  • Responsible for mentoring and developing Pathways Mentorship Program participants to successfully transition to management level positions.
  • Maintains a dependable work attendance record with extremely infrequent absences and/or lateness.
  • Performs other special projects and duties as assigned.

 SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises a small number of employees in management, administrative and technical roles. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 QUALIFICATIONS

 EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field required. Master’s in Business Administration or advanced degree preferred. Minimum 7-10 years of experience in casino industry, with at least 3-5 years in a senior leadership or director-level role.
  2. Slot certification or relevant technical training is a plus.
  3. Deep understanding of slot analytics, performance metrics, yield optimization, and theoretical win modeling.
  4. Must possess strong attention to detail, excellent guest service skills, strong organizational skills, telephone etiquette, and be a self-starter with the ability to follow-up and complete tasks in a timely manner with minimum supervision.
  5. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as well as to gain the cooperation of guests and fellow team members.
  6. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
  7. This position must have, or an ability to acquire within one year,  an in-depth knowledge and thorough understanding of Enterprise Policies and Procedures, governmental regulations, and technical rules relevant to their responsibilities.

Important Notes  

As a condition of employment, all new hires must pass the following:  

Pre-employment Alcohol/Drug Test. This drug test includes the normal seven-panel test, but excludes marijuana for non-safety sensitive positions.
