Compliance & Audit Manager

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide direction, and oversight of the Corporate Compliance Program, ensuring compliance with the Tribal Gaming Compact, NIGC MICS, AZ Dept of Gaming requirements, and internal policies and procedures.
• Review and approve all regulatory submissions, including SOP revisions, regulatory notifications, vendor notices, project-related disclosures, and requests for regulatory determination or approval.
• Serve as an Enterprise liaison to GRIC Internal Audit and the Gaming Commission Office for Corporate Compliance-related matters, effectively coordinating interactions, responses, and follow-up activities.
• Oversee the management and distribution of regulatory deadlines to ensure timely submissions, responses to regulator inquiries, and resolution of any deficiencies.
• Provide guidance and subject-matter expertise to Enterprise leadership on regulatory expectations, interpretations, and compliance requirements.
• Lead development, governance, and maintenance of Enterprise policies and procedures related to gaming operations, ensuring alignment with statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Lead the Audit & QA team to monitor audit findings, track remediation progress, and maintain accurate documentation of status, trends, and improvements.
• Coordinate regulatory examinations, fieldwork, and audits involving Corporate Compliance, assisting with document preparation, scheduling, and responses.
• Manage Corporate Compliance dashboards, metrics, and reporting for leadership review, ensuring accuracy and transparency of performance and compliance indicators.
• Develop and implement process improvements to strengthen compliance oversight, streamline workflows, and enhance communication with operational departments.
• Train, and mentor RCO and other staff on regulatory requirements, internal processes, and best practices.
• Maintains a dependable work attendance record.
• Must be able to work independently, with little to no supervision.
• Perform other special projects and duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises two Corporate Compliance Specialists and one Audit & Quality Assurance Analyst. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Enterprise’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems. The Senior Manager, Compliance is responsible for ensuring the quality, timeliness, and accuracy of all Corporate Compliance outputs and for fostering strong cross-departmental relationships.

Required Qualifications:
• 5–7 years’ experience in gaming compliance in an Indian Gaming Enterprise/Tribal regulatory environment.
• Expertise in interpreting and applying Tribal-State Gaming Compact requirements, NIGC Minimum Internal Controls, MICS, and other applicable gaming regulations.
• Experience leading effective regulatory interactions, including communication with Tribal regulators, auditors, state agencies, and/or federal oversight bodies; and maintaining effective working relationships therewith.
• Minimum of 3 years’ leadership experience, including supervising teams or managing compliance programs.
• Strong policy-writing and policy-governance skills, including drafting, reviewing, and implementing Enterprise-wide frameworks.
• Proven ability to manage complex, cross-departmental compliance initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

• Must possess strong attention to detail and interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written, and be a self-starter capable of meeting deadlines with minimal supervision.
• This position must have, or be able to acquire within one year, an in-depth knowledge of Enterprise Policies and Procedures, governmental regulations, and technical rules relevant to their responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Business, Law, Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or related field.
• Professional certifications such as CRCMP, CRCM, or comparable credentials.
• AZ Class A Gaming License
• High-level communication skills and experience presenting to executives, boards, and regulatory agencies.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
1. High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree or higher preferred.
2. A minimum of 5–7 years of gaming compliance experience required.
3. Three (3) years of supervisory or leadership experience required.
4. Experience working with Tribal Gaming Agencies, regulatory authorities and/or Councils, preferred.
5. Experience overseeing policy governance and Enterprise-level compliance programs preferred.
COMPUTER/TECHNICAL SKILLS
Advanced skills in the use of personal computers, Microsoft Office Suite Software, email and Enterprise specific programs. Experience in SQL, SharePoint, BI, and other data analytical software a plus.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information one-on-one to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
